General Conference and Easter is a wonderful combination. Here are some pictures of that day. The guests arrived with the melting snow.

I'm Back so here's the Update.
It's Easter morning and we have been covered with snow again with a bigger storm coming later in the week. I am wondering about our Easter Egg Hunt today. The house is quiet but soon will be filled with the wonderful sounds of a family gathering. In these few minutes I will try to post a few pictures that will bring dear readers up to date on the happenings.
This was part of an ongoing birthday celebration. We celebrated with friends and family for about a week! So fun.
Sarah's high school play was the Boyfriend. She was a star of course. We went to my old high school, Highland where she attends the School for the Performing Arts within the school. Katherine played in the orchestra.
We took a trip to Orlando and we stayed at the beautiful Marriott Grande Vista Resort.
Our first outing was church on Sunday morning. The ward was directly across the street from the Temple.
Epcot is always fun. Can you believe that these ostriches are made of plants? The grounds and entertainment are wonderful.
Beauty and the Beast. Sorry the color isn't better but you can see how great the production was.

We took a trip to Orlando and we stayed at the beautiful Marriott Grande Vista Resort.

We then did all the touristy things like Sea World, Downtown Disney, Disney Hollywood and Epcot center. These are the pictures of all that fun.

American Idol at Disney Hollywood. A show every hour or so. The winner of the day gets to be first in line at the next real audition. There was some pretty good talent. It was fun to vote electronically at our seats.

We had a great time. You can see why this is one of our favorite places to go.
We got another wonderful teenager this year. Katherine turned 13! How do you like my candle? It was all I could find. I have never run out of birthday candles before but it didn't seem to matter at all.

Deer Ones
I need a sign. I need a sign that says "Deer Crossing" or maybe it should say "Dear Resort and Winter Camp" Every winter we have any where from 1 or 2 to 5 or 6 deer guests that enjoy lounging and having lunch or dinner in the back yard. They visit continually and I continue to take pictures of them. The latest guests were here yesterday, basking in the sun and eating any and everything. I must say that I love to look at them and I wonder how anyone can hunt and have them for dinner but they certainly are abundant with no natural predators. The only down side is that they eat my tulips and other garden delicacies in the spring and they leave a winters full of dropping evidence that must be deaalt with, come the warm weather. The Georgia Grandchildren are both scared and facinated with them when they have their summer visits. It is pretty exciting to look out the window and see these beautiful animals. So here is the latest visiting family. There were four. I love the little buck who has only one antler and can't help but wonder how the other broke off. So if anyone has a "Deer Crossing" sign, I'll be glad to post it.

It's a New Year
2010
I still can't get it into my head that it is 2010. My hand won't write it without thinking that it can't be true. When I was young, I couldn't imagine that I would live until the year 2000 but here I am loving life and still keeping up. I am so grateful for my health and physical abilities. The second bout with Cancer was a real blow last year but I am happily healed and optomistic about the future.
2009 was a hard year for many of my family members and friends. It seemed like we were all being bombarded with personal challenges and our country experienced some of the most dramatic changes I have ever seen. I have always been grateful for the privlege of living in this blessed country but lately I have felt the greater need to more fervently pray for the preserving of our freedoms and for the righteousness of our citizens. A friend said one day..."If this is what it takes to bring the second coming, bring it on!" When I get discouraged I remember our dear President Hinckley who reminded us that we are living in difficult times but that we are also living is the very best of times. He was always cheerful and optomistic.
I look forward to this new year with a brightness of hope and I count my blessings which are many. Life is good. Challenges make us better. Heavenly Father lives and loves us and we are saved by our loving Jesus Christ. My family awesome. What could be better that that? Happy New Year. Bring it on 2010.

The Grand Dog

This morning as I was sleeping downstairs I heard his rapid fire descent on the stairs and then his happy, wagging body jumping on the bed and on me waking me up. I had to laugh at his greeting. He circled on top of the bed, nestled in and out of the pillows and under my arms, on my chest and declared his total confidence that I was that happy to see him too. What a guy. He made us laugh with his sounds and his snoring and his intense chasing of whatever might have ever been out in our yard barking at who knows what every time he ventured out. He did not just go outside. He jetted from the door to the bushes barking all the way. Topher was an experience. I think we bonded! Help!!
Christmas Day
Christmas morning we went to Brett's at 9am and took our gifts. Everyone was excited and anxious to tell us all about the gifts they received and the best one of all. It was a surprise trip to Disneyland that very day! What a hard secret to keep for Brett and Claudia. Their resourcefulness made it very affordable and off they went that afternoon. Surely Claudia will give the details on her next blog post.

The sad part of this story is that after we left Brett's house and got to Johnny's my camera malfunctioned and I did not get one picture of anything there. What a sad thing for me. Alison had prepared a wonderful lunch and we opened our gifts with them. After playing with Abby and eating the delicious lunch, we (David, me, Alison and Lindsay) found ourselves sleepy and the sofa so comfy that we all z-z-z-z-z-d off. It was a lovely day; full of family, food and love. Perfect in every way but one....the camera.
