Things your mother didn't know

Recently, after having a surgery, I became well acquainted with wound care. Here is the latest in that department.
1. Wounds need to be covered and kept warm so always use a BandAid etc.
2. Letting a wound dry out prolongs the healing. Air is the enemy.
3. Keep the wound moisturized at all times.
4. Continual or daily use of antibacterial ointments will cause a rash.
5. Vaseline is a good moisturizer.
Just thought this might be helpful.
Have a happy day.

That is good to know, Mom. I didn't know that air was the enemy. Now, I won't hesitate if my child wants a bandaid! How's your ankle?

I shall pass this info along to all of my sisters. Who knew air was the enemy?! I always thought that was how a scab was formed, which was then thought as a good thing. You are right about your ankle. It is a miraculous how quickly it has healed. Thanks again for sharing!
